The Infant Jesus of Prague began as a statue brought into Prague in the Czech Republic, increasing popularity in Spain. The statue's hands were broken off during the Saxon army invasion but were remade by local Father Cyril. The people of Prague prayed to the statue, most notably during a Swedish invasion until the army pulled out, leading to a national holiday celebrated on the first Sunday of May.
